Mini Summits across the nation are positive intiatives that require full implementation. What happens after these community based programs designed to produce economic success. In Southeast Texas, there are local chapters all over and the same dilemmas exist which is minimal to no job opportunitues to people of color and women. Industry has excluded blacks and women from major economic opportunities and no one has done anything about this. Articles have been written, city, state and local officials have been notified. Is there any protection to people of color and women who are being subjected to economic injustice?

From my earlieat recollections, my parents, Carl and Eula Swepson stressed that education was the key to success. As a young elementary student, I took great pride in teaching my younger siblings--Lisa and Chris--everything I learned in school. In fact, my Mother was the first to encourage me to be a teacher. Since then, I have earned a teacher's certificate, a Masters in Social Studies education and a Ph.D in Educational Leadership in Cultural Foundations at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I believe in a philosophy of social critical pedagogy capable of transforming students into social agents to bring about social justice. I believe that there is no greater calling than that of merging the teaching of African-American History and social critical pedagogy.

Hello Ms Bradley my name is Patricia and I was reading on TV this evening about what Pastor Sloan did with his congreation in Texas. I was so touch I had to let him know that, it only takes one brave soul to step up and act out. You see I had to educate my church as well. As a person living with HIV for twenty-three years never been sick never taken medicine, i wish I had been there. In this day and age we must put faces to this disease; making them aware that it is not a death sentence. HOW we get it is not important, but telling our story does. So will you pass this on for me to the Pastor. I cannot wait to see what the other churches do for World AIDS DAY Be Blessed

Grant it The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) - The Mormons in 1979 did begin to allow black men to hold the priesthood in their church, but what puzzles me most is why it took over 30 years for the top LDS church leaders to update The Book of Mormon (the foundation of the teachings of the church) to reflect the change. It was only recently in 2012 that the change was made - was the timing a coincidence or a convienence to influence the outcome of the US Presidentail Election?

Hello i recently had and uncomfortable situation. I was at Downey Police Department, ca conducting business, when i was greeted in Spanish, I didn't answer because i felt belittled or ridiculousness.
I was again greeted in Spanish. I heatedly then answered in English. I left there feeling alot worse about my self. Is there anything that i can do so other people don't have to feel inferior leave a place
that should be a safe haven.

Make a choice a useless Entitlement Stay poor society, Stay on Welfare all your life sham or Productive in the way you raise your family and lay a good working foundation for generations to come.

Wow! I think you may have viewed or read a different speech. There is a copy on this page for your reference. Rather than posting a negative comment, I will remind you that post Civil War years, the majority of Blacks WERE Republican. That is simply the truth.

I think there are many more people who would much rather support a party that wants to work for and respect our votes, rather than a party that believes that we as a people will do whatever they want us to do as long as they keep the cheese coming.

I appreciate the fact that Mr. Romney made the appearance in a climate that was not 100% favorable to his party. That was respectful and refreshing.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. I am a Forensic Document Examiner who has worked with the legal community for over 35 years and have appeared in court over 500 times. I would like you to read my blog about training in the field of Forensic Document Examination-www.documentexamin... that will explain why I need your assistance. The main certifying body for document examiners is the ABFDE-The American Board of Forensic Document Examiners. They were set up in 1977 with an LEAA Grant-Law Enforcement Assistance Agency. Even though they received federal funds and are bound by anti-discrimination laws, in their entire history, as best as I can determine, they have not certified even one black person as a Document Examiner. I have written to my Congressman-Robert Andrews in an effort-one-confirm this and two-takes steps to correct. I have also informed the IAI(International Association for Identification), my organization of this.

My goal is to set up college degree programs in this field that would be available to any interested student, regardless of race or creed.

Where is you statement about the black panter party during the last presidential election who were blattenly caught on video keeping voters from the voting booths. can you come up with videos of what you are saying? ( I'm talking recent not the 1960's) Dr. King was a republican and he would be ashamed of what is going on in this country with the democrat party and people like you constantly trying to divide the races, no matter what lies you have to spew out. I am not really sure the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints (LDS) - the Mormons are or were ready to accept a Black man as the President of the United States. On the day after Barrack Obama was elected gun sales in the state of Utah (the headquarters of the LDS Church) skyrocketed to unbelieveable numbers. Maybe the gun sales are an indication of just how readily the Mormon population actually accepts a black person - yet they want your vote.
